ACADEMY STREET UTILITY WORK

road construction, dirt, road work, excavator, utility work, asphalt, dump truck, traffic cones, brick, manhole

To support the new state of the art Caesar Rodney Dining Hall, Academy Street (its frontage road) underwent major reconstruction of subsurface utility infrastructure demolition, planning, and construction. This picture was taken while excavation work was performed stripping the top layer of asphalt to expose the compacted subgrade above the utilities. This road has every major utility located within a 28’ wide street corridor, including, sanitary, storm, gas, steam/condensate, fiber, electric, telephone, water, chilled water, and various other communications lines. Proposed utilities work needed to thread the needle through all of these existing utilities.
